Counselling Centre

Counselling can give you support when things are difficult and help you find your strengths and build on them. Sharing or talking through a difficulty with a trained counsellor can help you make sense of what you might be going through, sort out what you feel or work out what’s important.
How can I get to see a counsellor at Rephael House?
Young people can text or telephone us asking to talk to someone about counselling. We will then arrange for you to speak to one of our counsellors and come in for a session.
After your first meeting if you decide that you want to go ahead with counselling, the counsellor will agree further sessions with you.
How many sessions will I need?
Your counsellor will discuss with you when and for how long you come for counselling. For some people, a few sessions may be all they need, while others may come for longer. All our sessions are weekly, last fifty minutes and are based at our centre, Rephael House, in New Barnet.
We have a sliding scale system starting from £8 per session, which will be discussed with your counsellor at the first session, however no one will be turned away if they are only able to pay a little.
Who will know that I am having counselling?
Only those directly involved in this counselling Centre, your counsellor and the counsellor’s supervisor, will know you are coming. Your counsellor will tell you more about our strict confidentiality policy when you come for a session.
