Counselling Centre

We now run an extended service for children and young people. Our age range runs from 6 to 25. Our transition service is aimed at Years 6 and 7 children who are likely to find, or are finding, the transition from primary to secondary education difficult. This may be because of home circumstances, developmental delays, or lack of social skills.
We have made available several after school sessions (between 4 and 6 pm) for Year 6 and 7 children so that they do not need to miss school. Sessions are offered on a once-a-week basis, and can continue for up to three years.
The confidentiality of the child is respected unless Child Protection issues are raised. Parents are invited to meet with their child’s counsellor several times. Parents are also offered their own counselling sessions if it is felt it would be beneficial to the emotional health of the family.
